Hoewel het gevoel van angst in de meeste gevallen als onaangenaam, zo niet bedreigend wordt ervaren, is het gevoel zelf ook uiterst nuttig: zonder angsten zouden onze voorouders nauwelijks hebben kunnen overleven. En zelfs in deze tijd waarschuwt angst onze hersenen voor talloze gevaren. Snel naderende auto&#8217;s, &#8216;s nachts verlaten parkeerplaatsen, smalle donkere steegjes, boze gezichten en nog veel meer zien we onbewust als een bedreiging. Onze hersenen, vooral een deel ervan: onze <a title=\"Angst: Hoe de amygdala onze angsten controleert\" href=\"https:\/\/remstim.com\/nl\/angst-hoe-de-amygdala-onze-angsten-controleert\/\">limbische hersenen<\/a> waarschuwen ons razendsnel, zelfs voordat we de situatie cognitief begrijpen. Ons &#8220;gevoelsbrein&#8221; is aanzienlijk sneller dan ons &#8220;denkbrein&#8221;. Maar angst kan ook zijn oorzaak hebben in een psychische stoornis en dus van <a title=\"Als angst een ziekte wordt\" href=\"https:\/\/remstim.com\/nl\/als-angst-een-ziekte-wordt\/\">pathologische aard <\/a>zijn.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Wat wordt bedoeld met angst?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">De term <strong>&#8220;angst&#8221;<\/strong> komt van het Latijnse werkwoord <strong>&#8220;angere<\/strong> &#8221; en het Griekse <strong>&#8220;agchein&#8221;<\/strong>, wat vertaald in het Duits <strong>&#8220;de keel dichtknijpen&#8221;<\/strong> of <strong>&#8220;stikken<\/strong> <strong>&#8220;<\/strong> betekent. Internationaal is dit Duitse woord ingeburgerd geraakt in de context van de existenti\u00eble filosofie en de psychoanalyse. In tegenstelling tot angst, die duidelijk gericht is op een extern gevaar, wordt angst als onbepaald beschouwd. Het overkomt mensen meestal ongecontroleerd en onvrijwillig.<br \/>\n<br class=\"clear\">In de psychologie wordt hier onderscheid gemaakt tussen een <strong>kenmerk<\/strong> en een <strong>toestand<\/strong>: in de eerste vorm komt dit voor in situaties die als gevaarlijk worden geclassificeerd, hoewel er geen acute dreiging is. Staatsangst daarentegen is een tijdelijke emotie als gevolg van een re\u00ebel gevaar.<br \/>\nAngst komt in vele vormen. blozen.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\nDit zijn zeker geen ge\u00efsoleerde gevallen: veel mensen melden dat ze al met een of andere vorm van angst te maken hebben gehad. En volgens de Duitse vereniging voor psychiatrie en psychotherapie, psychosomatiek en neurologie<a title=\"DGPPN op het internet\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dgppn.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(DGPPN<\/a>) lijdt een op de acht Duitsers ten minste eenmaal in zijn leven aan uitgesproken angst. Dit angstgedrag kan uiteindelijk ook leiden tot een angststoornis en pathologische vormen aannemen. Als de angst in dit geval gericht is en geassocieerd wordt met een voorwerp dat angst opwekt, wordt het vaak een fobie genoemd. Het woord fobie komt uit het oud-Grieks en betekent zoiets als &#8220;angst, terreur&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Hoe be\u00efnvloedt angst onze gezondheid en ons welzijn?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Angst is, zoals gezegd, op zich geen slechte raadgever, maar vervult een vitale functie als oer-menselijke emotie. Want het is deze basisemotie die ons in staat stelt gevaren te herkennen en dienovereenkomstig te reageren. Het herinnert ons eraan oplettender en voorzichtiger te zijn. Gefundeerde angsten geven ons de nodige energie om onze krachten te mobiliseren, uitdagingen aan te gaan, beschermende maatregelen te nemen en vastberaden op te treden. In veel gevallen maakt dit topprestaties \u00fcberhaupt mogelijk. Zelfs onze voorouders reageerden met aanval of vlucht, afhankelijk van de dreiging, dankzij deze archa\u00efsche emotie. Zo is objectgerelateerde angst bijvoorbeeld niet uitsluitend een verlammende maar ook een mobiliserende emotie.<br \/>\nDeze emotie wordt geproduceerd en gecontroleerd met de bijbehorende lichaamssignalen in de <a title=\"Angst: Hoe de amygdala onze angsten controleert\" href=\"https:\/\/remstim.com\/nl\/angst-hoe-de-amygdala-onze-angsten-controleert\/\">amygdala<\/a>, die in de hersenen wordt beschouwd als het centrum van de angststurende gedragsevaluatie. Samen met de hippocampus heeft de amygdala nog een andere belangrijke functie; namelijk het opbouwen van een emotioneel geheugen, ook wel <a title=\"Hoe we angst leren met behulp van somatische markers\" href=\"https:\/\/remstim.com\/nl\/hoe-we-angst-leren-met-behulp-van-somatische-markers\/\">lichaamsgeheugen<\/a> genoemd. Mensen hebben verschillende angstgedragingen, die kunnen leiden tot alles van een misselijk gevoel tot aanzienlijke uitbarstingen van angst samen met verontrustende lichamelijke sensaties.<br \/>\nIn het geval van een <strong>terugkerende, overdreven en ongegronde angstreactie<\/strong> kan echter de grens tussen niet-zieke en <a title=\"Als angst een ziekte wordt\" href=\"https:\/\/remstim.com\/nl\/als-angst-een-ziekte-wordt\/\">pathologische angst <\/a>worden overschreden.\n<\/p>\n<hr class=\"divider-html\" style=\"border-top: 1px solid #bbb; margin-top: 30px;
