Heel wat mensen zijn bang om voor een groep te staan en een presentatie, een toneelstuk, een dansvoorstelling of iets dergelijks te geven. Daardoor hebben ze last van plankenkoorts, presentatie- of spreekangst. Maar ook buiten het grote podium is plankenkoorts voor veel lijders een groot probleem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Een salarisonderhandeling, een auditie, een sollicitatiegesprek of een belangrijke vergadering op kantoor kunnen bijvoorbeeld typische symptomen van prestatieangst oproepen. Deze omvatten een licht verhoogde hartslag, een droge mond, een trillende stem of overmatig zweten. Bovendien gaat het onbehagen gepaard met een misselijk gevoel nog v\u00f3\u00f3r de eigenlijke voorstelling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In de meeste gevallen behoeft prestatieangst geen behandeling, vooral omdat sommige angsten op zich niet slecht zijn. Getroffen mensen vrezen vooral negatieve feedback als onderdeel van hun prestatieangst. De angst om zich belachelijk te maken, het publiek niet te overtuigen, een kans te missen of zich voor iedereen voor schut te zetten, is voor sommigen ronduit verlammend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Podiumangst kent vele vormen, zoals de eerder genoemde presentatieangst, podiumangst of spreekangst in het openbaar.
