Why do we fight against ourselves so often?

The silent battle within you

When something hesitates within us

There are times when we feel a resistance within us that is hard to grasp.
No big drama, no loud outcry. Just a slight hesitation, an inner struggle,
that prevents us from simply moving on.

Part of us wants to move forward, wants to change something, wants to dare to do something.
And at the same time, something holds us back. Sometimes it is the fear of failure,
sometimes the fear of the unknown. Sometimes it is also a quiet voice inside us,
which wants to protect us – from disappointment, from vulnerability or from the pain of giving up
old certainties.

The resistance is not an enemy

This silent struggle is nothing to be ashamed of. It shows
that different forces are at work within us. That we don’t just drift along,
but try to really consciously choose our path.

Sometimes inner resistance is not an obstacle, but a sign of awareness.

Instead of ignoring or fighting this resistance, we could try
to listen to him. What does he want to tell us? What does he want to protect us from?
And what would happen if we gave it space without letting it determine us?

The end of the internal war

Sometimes it is enough to be quiet for a moment. Not to act immediately,
not to look for answers straight away. Just stay. Listen.
And allow that not every uncertainty has to be overcome.

Perhaps it is not about winning this inner battle.
Perhaps it is about ending it by accepting ourselves –
even in our uncertainty, our hesitation, our not-knowing.

Accompanying yourself instead of fighting

Arriving at ourselves does not mean being perfect or always courageous.
It means being honest with what lives inside us,
even if it is sometimes contradictory.

Sometimes this is precisely where a particular strength lies:
not fighting against yourself, but accompanying yourself.
Patient. Vigilantly. And with the quiet confidence,
that the next step does not have to be forced,
but will come when the time is right.
