Naturopath for psychotherapy, EMDR coach and trainer as well as developer of the EMDR goggles REMSTIM 3000 and the self-coaching method
Dear Reader,
I am glad about your visit and your interest. Let me briefly tell you how I came to develop the EMDR self-coaching method and the REMSTIM 3000 EMDR goggles.
Before I learned about EMDR, I believed I always had to powerlessly endure every emotion I felt – especially the distressing ones and their fluctuations.
Stress, sorrow and worry, existential and failure fears of everyday life, interpersonal conflicts, aimlessness, demotivation, sadness; the list of emotional, mental and physical states that negatively affect our lives far too often is long.
Today I know that we are not helpless in the face of our negative emotional states. My experience with many dear people who have confided in me so far taught me that hardly any of us have to endure our emotional burdens, such as stress or worry, for long. No longer than the moment we need to become aware of it. After that, we have a real choice and can help ourselves.
EMDR, the rapid eye movement method, makes it possible in so many situations. For years I have been using this method in coaching and especially in self-coaching. And then, while I was personally treating my clients with EMDR as a coach, I came up with the idea of showing people how you could help yourself in the moment of extreme stress.
This resulted in the EMDR self-coaching method and the EMDR self-coaching guide in 6 steps.
What was lacking at that time was a handy and reliable EMDR device that stimulated the user externally while he coached himself. For it turned out that it is precisely an external visual stimulus that puts each of us in that helpful position in which we can devote ourselves to our issues in complete peace.
There was nothing on the market at the time. So I developed the EMDR goggles REMSTIM 3000, which simulate the typical waving hand movements of an EMDR coach. At the same time, the goggles obscure the user’s field of vision, which helps them focus their attention on their innermost self during self-coaching. Because that is where the positive effects of EMDR self-coaching can be felt in the form of beneficial change in one’s thoughts and emotions.
EMDR self-coaching can be applied quickly and easily by almost anyone thanks to the REMSTIM 3000 EMDR goggles and my instructions(free download) for doing so. Nevertheless, I am regularly asked whether I would be willing to teach the special handling of this effective method and the REMSTIM 3000. Yes, I am happy to do so.
At my 1×1-INTENSIVE workshops: EMDR Self-Coaching with the REMSTIM 3000 I teach the 6 steps of self-coaching.
In moments of intense experience of particular emotional stress, we carry within us at the same moment the great opportunity for lasting change. For it is above all the small and recurring sensitivities and emotional fluctuations of everyday life that can indirectly show us the way to more serenity, conflict stability, mental fitness and creativity. We just have to walk the path.
Thanks to EMDR self-coaching we are able to regulate ourselves exactly in such moments and trigger the change to more courage and confidence in our own abilities within ourselves. There are so many rich and beneficial experiences and opportunities waiting for us in life. Let’s not let them pass us by unused.
Sincerely
Your Thomas Buhl
