Field report on the REMSTIM 3000 by Markus Bauchrowitz, sports mental coach & trainer from Bielefeld, Germany
Yes, I was curious after the phone call with Thomas Buhl and I really wanted to use the EMDR device REMSTIM 3000 for my self-coaching. I usually like to use music for self-coaching to achieve bilateral hemisphere stimulation. When I work with clients, I prefer to wave and very rarely use music. Why? Because eye movement seems to me to be the most effective and gives the quickest effect with my clients. So why not with me in self-coaching? Otherwise, I also like to grope myself and my clients. And now these “EMDR glasses” are supposed to help. I am an open person and good to inspire and yet there were a few small doubts in the baggage. And now I have to wait three or four days for the delivery.
And what can I say? I am thrilled. Lightweight small case that perfectly protects the EMDR glasses and makes them easy to carry. Short and good instructions included. Really easy to use and adjust. So here we go! It was a little too slow for me at first. Simply accelerate at the touch of a button. Moving on. And I also increased the range of the eye deflection a little bit, so now I have found the optimal settings for me. A blocking thought is also found quite quickly, the bad feeling arises with me on the chest. So now let’s see what you can do. CLICK!
My gaze is quickly drawn inward through the dark glasses and the running light is pleasant and with each use I notice after a short time breathing more freely and a deep breath. Calmness spreads. Delightful. Just as I know it when waving at my clients. But here the glasses “coach” me. Go on, immediately think and feel another “bad” thought. CLICK. Three orange diodes light up from the upper rim of the glasses one after the other into the center of the glasses and then my gaze is steadily directed from left to right and back again with yellowish diodes…. For about 30 seconds. And early again this liberating sigh. Works!
And yes, I’ll take them to the gym or football field for some mobile use. Let’s see what my athletes have to say about it.
