Helpful tips:

Body-Scan II: Redetermine your physical sensations during self-coaching with EMDR

The 5th step (Body Scan II) repeats the 3rd step (Body Scan I), because after the intervention with the visual bilateral stimulation of the EMDR method it is necessary for a complete implementation of the self-coaching process to explore residual sensations with another Body Scan. These residual sensations must then be dissolved by repeating the 4th step, the intervention, and integrated into our experience in a healthy way.

Please note that you can do the intervention process a few times in a row to gradually reduce your residual sensations. Take a break after each of 3 Rapid Eye Movement stimulations.

If your residual sensations do not dissolve completely in this EMDR Self-Coaching session, it may be helpful to go on to Step 6, provided that your residual sensations are within a tolerable range. With the last step – step 6 – you close this session. The EMDR intervention triggers, it paves the way for the normal processing of our body. The following time, particularly the night’s rest with its REM sleep phases is thus regularly able to completely dissolve the remaining emotional markers of the involving personal issue in numerous cases.

If the topic is still equally present the next day, you can coach it yourself again with another session.
