I am in EMDR treatment right now. Now I am thinking about buying the EMDR device REMSTIM 3000. Can I use the REMSTIM 3000 for support?
This cannot be answered with a simple YES or NO. Here we have to distinguish between therapy and coaching – especially with the method EMDR. The mention of the word treatment suggests that this is psychotherapeutic treatment. In this, as in other therapies, the focus is on healing and alleviating a condition. The REMSTIM 3000 is an EMDR self-coaching device. And that means that in a coaching session stresses and sensitivities of everyday life as well as their emotional and mental consequences should be calibrated. For a relief or even a cure of psychological suffering or disease, the self-coaching device is not suitable. Please also read the Important Information.
In addition, it should also be noted that an EMDR therapist or a therapist using another treatment method will have their own opinion on the matter. Just ask him how he feels about it and whether he believes that using EMDR goggles for self-coaching may and can support and accompany you in treatment.
The REMSTIM 3000 is extremely well suited to reduce stress and common tension states in everyday life in many situations. However, the mental and emotional health of the user is common and always a prerequisite, as in coaching in general.
The positive effects of EMDR glasses can help in numerous cases to reduce emotional tension, hectic, nervousness and excitement. Often a clearer view of things is the result. Threatening and stressful situations in life often lose their overwhelming component after an application with the EMDR device. Thus, the user often feels better strengthened and armed for the adversities of life. New challenges can be tackled with a lighter heart and more mental and physical energy. Accompanying one’s own psychotherapeutic treatment with the help of the REMSTIM 3000 should be discussed with the practitioner in any case. The REMSTIM 3000 cannot replace treatment by a psychotherapist or physician. Here again we refer to the Important Information.
